Advantages of electric winch

There are many kinds of winches, but electric winches are the favorite type of cross-country people. Why? Because it is petite, good and obedient, who can be indifferent. Don't miss it. What I want to say is that it's small, doesn't take up much space, and it's easy to install. You can install the front or rear of the car as you like.

It can also provide strong pulling force. It is no problem to drag a ton of off-road vehicle, and this pulling force is realized by the cooperation of a motor and reducer with a maximum power of only 3 or 4 kW. Four or two kilos can't be more than this.

It also has an advantage that it doesn't matter even if the vehicle is turned off, and it can still be used normally. Because it can use the car battery power for traction, as long as the battery has electricity. Think about how reassuring it would be if your car stalled in the water.

When is an electric winch used

Understand the advantages of electric winch, it's time to pull it out and show it. In the actual off-road process, it can be used in these cases:

The first case is: trapped car.

Stuck vehicles are most likely to occur in soft and slippery terrain, such as desert, mire, swamp, snow, etc. in these places, the wheel adhesion is poor and it is easy to slip, resulting in digging pits in situ. As a result, the wheel is stuck and cannot move. I believe that every cross-country player has definitely had the experience of getting stuck in a car.

The second case is: vehicle failure.

Vehicle failure is a very common thing. Whether it's self driving off-road or off-road racing, this kind of thing will happen. Of course, the priority is to repair directly, but if it can't be repaired properly, it must be towed back by an electric winch for repair or to a safe place for rescue.

The third case is rollover.

Rollover is not only a bridge section that will appear in cross-country competition. If some difficult cross-country challenges are carried out, such as desert slope flushing, pit climbing, rock climbing, etc., although playing with excitement, a slight mistake in driving may lead to rollover accidents. In this case, the vehicle is basically unable to drive. There's no other way but to be dragged away.

The fourth case is assisted driving.

In the off-road process, if you encounter some sections that can't pass, such as the slope is too steep and slippery, you can use the electric winch to assist in climbing, that is, using the strong traction of the electric winch and the power of the car itself, the success rate will be much higher.

The fifth case is: clear the roadblocks

When driving in the mountain forest area, you may encounter roadblocks such as falling boulders or fallen trees. At this time, you can use an electric winch to clean them, so you don't have to detour. In addition, it is also possible to drag some heavy objects with it.

Operation method of electric winch

Attention should be paid to the ways and means of operating the electric winch, otherwise it is easy to hurt yourself. Let's take the car sinking as an example to tell you the specific operation methods.

Wear protective gloves before operation to avoid injury to hands. First, connect the wire head of winch remote control. If there is no wireless remote control, it will not be used. Then open the clutch on the winch and release the cable with the remote control. When pulling the rope, it must be ensured that the cable has more than 5 turns on the drum, otherwise the cable will loose from the drum under heavy load.

If the vehicle is not deeply trapped, the rescue vehicle can be used as a fixed fulcrum to connect with the rescued vehicle; If the sinking car is very serious, use rocks or trees as a fixed fulcrum to connect with the sinking car.

After the cable is connected, close the winch clutch and control the drag with the remote control until the vehicle is free from difficulties and can drive normally. After use, remember to clean and maintain the electric winch, otherwise it will affect the service life.

Finally, I have another point to add. When buying an electric winch, the number in the winch model represents its maximum tension, that is, the limit state of use. Therefore, the principle of selecting winch is generally 1.5 times of the self weight of the vehicle. For example, if the self weight of Cherokee is 1.6 tons, the winch tension should not be less than 5333 pounds, so it is recommended to use a winch with more than 8000 pounds.
